Can someone take a look of the attached file and let me know why the tree is flying and not showing up in the render pls :o :-\
First, your tree is not flying. It is actually under the terrain. I didn't have the exact model that you used, but I substituted another one. Now, in order to solve this problem you will have to select the object first. Do this by right clicking in the preview window and click on "Select object or shader " You will get a drop down box that lists all the objects and shaders in the scene. Go to the object that you want and click on it. You should see some handles in the preview window. Underneath the handles will be 4 small icons. You want to click the icon on the far right............drop to terrain. This will place your object at the right elevation, depending on where the "0" is located on that particular model.
If you need anything else...............just ask. ;)
1st I would like to thank u to helping me out with my silly question. I really appreciate it....
Now if you can take a look of the attached screenshot. The 4 small icons u mentioning are not showing up :o
I mean I have a problem that somehow TG is not showing up correctly...see the middle of the screen where some numbers are half hidden. I have the same problem in some windows too....but anyways...pls let me know where should I see the 4 icons.
Hi,
You're using TG2. The things Yossam is talking about are in TG3.
The problem with numbers not showing is down to your system font, which is quite large. What font are you using?

Jo
Looking at your screenshot again, it's an interesting mix of fonts. I'd still be interested to know what font you're using and what version of Windows.
XP32bit....the font is Tahoma on the left screen and not sure what font is on the right screen as that one is a remote desktop screen....
But in any other applications all looks good. Only in TG showing this little annoying glitch...
BTW, do u know any write up on objects handling in TG2... kinda go bananas as i cannot find anything on the net...
I'd suggest just using TG3 free version (I believe you're using the free version of TG2, correct?). Documentation is similar for TG2 and 3, all is in our wiki; TG3 is a lot easier to work with objects through, from the Drop to Terrain feature mentioned above to the improved model view modes (Textured, etc.), and much more.
