As promised in part one, I'm trying to make these scenes increasingly realistic as I go. Here's part two... this one's had a bit of post-processing in Photoshop. Still feeling like the landscape is firmly in Uncanny Valley territory, but I'm learning.
It's nice to work in a series, to have a 'red line'. In this one you need more trees (more species and specimens) up the hill. Maybe a lot of grass in the foreground, except at the beach.
More trees meaning a larger quantity of them, or more source files to create variety?
Both! But you can use a fractal as mask to get the populations a bit patchy.
Thanks for the suggestions! I made some quick updates... this is definitely still a work in progress, but even at a lower resolution this is already much closer to reality than the previous version.
I'd make it much denser, so you can only see ground in occasional patches.
