Title: Plug-ins
Post by: rep on June 18, 2007, 05:18:32 PM
Dose any one knew of any plug-ins for other 3D software? I would like to take my Terragen 2 files to Maya 8.5 on a Mac to render them with the Mantal Ray rendering engine.

I think there is one for Max but I'm not entirely sure.

over to maya is going to be a tricky one.

tg2 does natively export both lightwave objects as well as a lightwave scene.  from this latter, you'll have to collapse all the terrain objects into one single object for import into maya.  or alternatively, import the 9 (or is it 12?) single .lwo's directly into maya.  problem there is that they're not lined up perfectly the way matt has them in the lightywave scene.

as far as camera moves are concerned, is there a .chan importer for maya (assuming you've set the animation in tg2.  (mho it's probably easier in maya)?

if there's something simpler, i'd be real happy to learn as well!
