The terrain used here is from the DEM file of 'Moonlight Peak, CA' which was converted to a .ter file and used in Terragen Classic some years ago. If you are interested, you can download the .ter file from my web site http://www.imaginature.us/ and import it into TG3. Go to the downloads page, when there, scroll down to the bottom of the list and you will find the file. The nice thing about this terrain is that are some nice flat areas between the hills and mountains.
If there is enough interest, I'll make the .tgd file of this image available here in File sharing.
Used here was Oshyan's suggested method of painting over the terrain creating formations, trenches and more. Check out this thread: http://www.planetside.co.uk/forums/index.php?topic=16857.0 .
Some of the vegetation here are Walli's models. Also, thanks to Mark for the Fir trees and the Log Cabin.
Enjoy,
Bob
I really like this..............the colors are great. ;)
Thank you Richard.
Very nice composition and colors. I like this
Intriguing and beautiful. Going to have to try this. You have a super website by the way, most enjoyable. I've passed it on to a few friends.

Thank you. The site has not been updated for quite awhile. Lost contact with my host; and, having used FrontPage to create it, I don't have that software anymore.
Looks nice!
I don't know the real scale of the trees are they coherent ?

Thank you. I used the landmark for reference; and, I think all models are close to being the correct sizes.
Thanks.
Very nice scenario. Love the colors and the space!
Really good layout/vista!
Composition is grand and feels natural.
You should keep on with this one. Detail the ground more and add a complex and natural plant-scape to it. It needs lots more plants.
IMHO I think it would be cool to see you move the color pallet from a desert scheme to a more northerly impression.
And with a sky line like that, you could do a lot in the way of science fiction.
JUst my thoughts. If you like them, than of course I was right. And if not, I am simply exhausted after a grueling work week, and cannot be held responsible ;D
Thanks; lots of nice ideas. I've gone on to another project using the same terrain as here. Should see a lot more plants.
I remember this terrain Bob!
you have chosen a great pov... the only thing I might've changed would be the pine/conifers in the middle of the image, they seem a little harsh to my eye...apart from that minor nitpick, I love it Bob!
cheers
Jason
:)
Thanks Jason. I agree with you comment about the conifers. Should have done some re-seeding.
