Could you tell us what exactly is the problem? What moves around?

It's hard to see what you're doing by this image.  What moves around?

I get things like the sky come through the back ground and ridges gets cutup. I will put up a snapshot of my settings and the hole image. I have been using terragen and terragen 2 on a mac for a year now and the problem started when I did the last update of TG2.

If it isn't that you are getting the camera caught inside an object or getting the camera too close to the surface, then I'd say this is going over my head so far...

Unfortunately I can't tell just from the description what's going on. I'll have to look at an example .tgd to know for sure.

ok I have been doing some more testing. I'm not in an object when rendering and I no closer to the any objects then be for. I have uploaded a new image to the link in the first post. why is the software rendering a off set line in the image? this line is not in the preview. my setting are in what I would call the default mode. the same setting as the first time you opened the software.   by the way I working on a Mac with a 2.33 GHz Intal Core 2 Duo with 3GB of ram and I have a RadeonX1600 256 MB. I have all so had the same problem on a Mac with a 2.0 GHz Intal Duo with 2GB of ram. I did not have this problem until I update the software.

The line in the image at the top is a normal part of the rendering process. The renderer works on smaller tiles one at a time for more efficient memory use. Unfortunately in some cases with strong displacement the displaced terrain can get cut off at tile boundaries. That appears to be what is happening in this case. This is a bug that we're aware of and it will be resolved in the future. For now you can try changing the resolution you are rendering at or simply changing your displacement strength, though I realize both these are somewhat undesirable workarounds.
