This tree is just not catching the sunlight :o
Any idea why? From the shadow on the ground u can see the position of the sun. That indicates that the tree should be bathing in the light but it is not. It might be a faulty tree? Now that sounds funny :D
Which tree is it?
Object wise I'm a total greenhorn I have to admit.
But guessing you have Ray trace objects checked, the colors are looking strange in all (ground e.g.).
Like wrong/cranked standart settings like light, gamma or contrast which leads to very bright and very dark parts and killed midtones.
Interesting case I could learn from it's solution as such kind of problem could hit myself soon..
This is a silver birch from Marc ...
and there is another tree (different kind) couple of meters away and that one takes the light as normal...
What are your light settings?
Are you using the .tgo or the .obj?
.tgo
The light settings are the default.
I just building up the scene and playing with the trees...etc. See this screenshot.
The left tree is okay. The right is evil dark :D
Could you upload the tgd?
Here u go...
to Bjur:
Yeah i am also greeny with objects...this is my 1st try. The color looks sh... for sure. I will need to figure out how to tweak the colors of objects...
on the silverbirch object
in the birchleafshader translucency is 10 ??
Could come from this
David
geee where is this stuff " birchleafshader translucency"
I looked everywhere but I cannot see anything like this. I use TG2...
tg3 version
i modified the translucency to 0 and saved a new file attached here
check your render withit in tg2 and see if it changes anything
David
now both trees are dark :o
the power of the dark side :-\
In TG3 the right tree was okay?
Maybe time to upgrade for me...to 3
normal
usually translucency is 0 by default.
nothing to do at 10. because it shoulde be from 0 to 1
cool idea to upgrade ;)
by the way i attach another one i put the translucency to 0.5 for both trees
David
Wowow...this is a big change my friend ;)
The trees are getting out of the darkness and....the the color of the leaves looks way more natural than before!
Guess 0.6 or something will handle everything...
here it is
0.65
Looks pretty cool....
But there is one weird thing. If I put 2 trees on the ground couple of meters from each other the I would expect that they catch the sun almost the same way and intensity. Instead of this the left was very bright and the right was dark. Tweaking a bit the dark tree got lighter and the other darker. Somehow it does not make sense to me... anyways...the tree looks way better than before :D
Thx a lot for your help! I will write this trick down for future reference for sure.
Also thx for Yossam for your time to chk out the file ;)
