I discovered some things in Lightwave again, and made some new buildings. I noticed that with a single layer of vertices, there is bound to be some light coming through in TG. I always had a bit trouble to get the inside of houses really dark. Extruding an inner layer is interesting to build the inside of a house (though I might not use that), but also for that light seepage.
So, when finished I put a scene together to test the house (Stone Age). Roof isn't mapped, but textured procedurally, walls partially image map (wicker), partially procedural (loam). I also had trouble UV mapping those rounded areas, so this works great.

Very good modelling - I too have had trouble uving a thatched roof.  I like the bushes too - yours?

Thanks, Mick. So now you know, just texture procedurally. Tree bark is another thing that can often be done procedurally, like birches. If you give it world space, you get all different barks, so that's a plus as well.

Are these going to appear in your wall mural? Having this ability to create your own models is certainly a plus - this must have taken a lot of learning and experimenting time.

No, these are not for the wall, I merely got an inkling (sudden inspiration) of how to do a roof like that and tried it. I do have to make a different Roman watchtower though, I just heard.
