Render times are long on these but here's a few teaser still frames that dropped from a 300 frame test.
This should be great. What are the render times out of interest?
Depending on the type of machine I get on the render farm I'm getting about 15 hours per frame on 6 core boxes and 3 hours on 16 core boxes. The biggest challenge was getting it to render without any artifacts such as popping geo and shadows, along with holes in the mesh. There's still some geo hole issues that I've determined are probably my fault as I am likely flying the camera too close to geo or through it but I can accept that for now.
I spent a of time testing different settings at low res until I got something that worked. It seems I'm about there now but at considerable render time hits, though taking into consideration the HD resolution and the millions of micropolys represented here that really isn't all that bad.
looking forward to seeing this one Greg!

Very impressive Greg. Reminds me a lot of Utah. Your rock work and colors are right on.

I know I should post this link in Animation Sharing, but here's the link to the animation.
I'll put up the stats in that forum.
Striking video Greg.
Very Very Beautifull Greg !!! :D
Killer stuff man
Real cool. The camera going through the geo traumatized me though. :o
That was impressive!
Wow, that was cool! Great job. Maybe I would have slowed the camera a bit when squeezing through the narrows...
but that's what makes it exciting. Makes one squirm in their seat.
Almost makes you want to duck.................... :o Great animation.
