Title: My 2nd render. Be gentle !
Post by: Jgone on December 02, 2013, 12:10:19 AM
Hello! I am a new guy in the forums :). I purchased Terragen 3 around 5 days ago, and been doodling with it ever since. Please do tell me what you think of this.
Oh and i really just tinkered the settings for at least 8 hours before final render, i am just amazed what TG3 can do !

Maximum of 30sec of post-processing was done for this piece, so not much if any.

Good render.................wish my 2nd render looked this good. A couple of things IMO............make your fog just a little denser. And you need a little more light on your forground.  :)

Well, no need to be gentle; you did a really fine job. The lighting is perfect, waves seem ok for this lake, trees are nice. I like it. Next step might be to work on the foreground, like on the waterside area. You might want some fake stones there, maybe a little sandy beach here and there. Lots of fake stones setups to be found on the forum, just add them and mask them by distribution shader set to a range of the water height. Work on from there. Do put the reflective shader (noRT) under the stones, so they effect the stones.

A very good render. As Dune has said some work on the shore and perhaps some variation in the vegetation and population colour would take it to the next level

Good suggestions here. For your second image, you've done fine with the composition and light.
