Hey Bastien,

Do you think that you can you your method in this thread to get the basic shape of this -> http://cdn.viralnova.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/amazing_places_03.jpg

And then use displacements to get the details? Someone have time to test this path?

this could be good too http://cdn.viralnova.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/amazing_places_19.jpg

Hmmm. I thought this could work.

The reason I thought it would work is because of this tut http://www.planetside.co.uk/forums/index.php/topic,12630.0.html?PHPSESSID=fdcc073f924ae32981fa0b1f088ebecd
The only problem with the tut in the link is, I found that the tower had to be really really big to get good shape. THe shorter the tower the less it held a desirable form.

But with the "SSS" I thought it would work because there would be no "lead in" at the bace. And we could start with a square rather than a rounder form. Also the tower could still be set to the desired hight.

The image here has some strange things happening. It looks like its folding in on its self? Which looks like an object that has displacement added to it. But its terrain! The sss is simply a set of instructions, right? So why dose it collapse like an object in this case?

I wonder if the correct answer is a combination of what you did in the OP + the tower tut+ this http://www.planetside.co.uk/forums/index.php/topic,17540.0.html?PHPSESSID=3bad64a13c4e2bdda57d2e237cd7d5b4

Thats pretty interesting Bastian! But I guess we don't need to try this anymore. Terragen will have easy to build towers in the update release this month! 3.1
