Title: Tarn take two
Post by: mhaze on March 07, 2014, 05:04:18 AM
Updated! The new version has a better sense of scale. I raised the mountains onto SSS which gave height and a better shape.  Al veg XFrog and walli apart from the moss on the foreground rocks. Ripple by Chaps.

Losing a bit its fantasy Atmo with new scale but realism is so much improved.

Very nice.

Has an 'Iconic' feel to it now. Not so much fantasy, and more like a place everyone somehow knows but has never been to.

How far are you going to push?

This is really nice.  I think they foreground looks great.  My only crit would be the mountain ranges.  To my eye at least, they seem to have far too much high frequency detail.  They sort of leap off the screen, which compositionally makes them compete for my attention with the great foreground detail you have.  My feeling is that if they were softer looking they'd better balance the image.

My $.02

Fair point - I'll experiment more with it.
