Title: Suggestions for the brain-locked please
Post by: N-drju on March 10, 2014, 03:48:48 PM
Dear Terragenists,
(wow, sounds like a sect!)

I just started a little project for a colleague of mine. She needs three to four renders of a holiday resort located atop a relatively low cliff and surrounded by some fruit trees. While I have a pretty good idea (and instructions!) of how the cliff part should look like I have completely no idea of what to do with the first render. It is a shot of the cliff and a part of the road that leads to the resort (as seen in the attachment). I keep thinking about what to do here. What would you change in the foremost set of this render? I think that it is incredibly boring and empty. At the same time I don't have that much space to maneuver. Ideally all objects/stuff around the road should not obstruct the view of the cliff. So... how would you enrich or modify this scene around the road? Objects? Texture / shader tweaking?

Yes people, I know that the yacht is leaking...! ;D

Well, if you wt a clear view to the background, that leaves the righthand side of the foreground for higher objects, but you could also have some palmtree-tops look up behind the road. And there is definitely room for more detail in the texturing (that´s what TG is really good at.) Maybe some nice clouds...

My best regards,
J

On the shore you can put some stones maybe some sand. And yes behind the road some trees would be nice and as it was mentioned before some nice clouds will help too...
By the way the the boat is sinking... :D :D
Sorry, sorry...  ;D
Actually a cool boat is a very good idea around there.

Yes Attila, thank you for pointing that out... I almost forgot. >:( ;) Do you suggest making these nice lines in the sand? I have a sort of tutorial on that but I'm not sure about what effects it will bring. If you know any tricks concerning lines in the sand - gimme, gimme, gimme. ;) Yes, I was also thinking about some mid-sized rocks, possibly on the left.

@ Mahnmut - What do you mean by "detail in the texturing"? You mean adding more shaders or displacement? Or all at once? I think I'll indeed add some small trees on the right. Nice idea for that car to "shine through" the palm groove!

Yesterday I also got a hold of DAZ software and it works great! I think I'll add three human models here as well. :D One walking down the road and the other two sitting on the sand in the very front part of the picture. Of course there will definitely be some clouds around here!

I am not so advanced in TG so I cannot tell how to do sand ripples but there is a topic ongoing about this. It was started by greg and it is called "Yoshua tree...something" If u read that through u can have some idea how to make sand and stuff. Otherwise if that not work I can imagine the shore that full of smaller rocks...
And about details....I feel the 1st image you posted was not done in TG or in TG 0.9 or something. For me looks also missing details a lot...hmmm not sure what but something is weird...or just Anti Aliasing is missing... ???

I'm not sure what do you mean by that... you mean this image right here in this thread or my first one ever? ???

The one here was done in TG2 of course. However this is only a test render that should give you idea of what the final should roughly look like. That it is at AA=3 and det=0.55 is absolutely deliberate. :)

Yeah I meant this in this thread...
Got it on the detail level :) Pls post the next phase of the pix when u have it. I would like to see the development.
