Title: Godrays between Trees
Post by: PeterParker on March 16, 2014, 07:53:52 AM
Hello everybody,

it seems to me godrays dont appear between trees and fog. Seems to be only in the sky between some clouds and the right amount of haze.
Havent got it yet. Is it even possible or does this only work in the sky? Any suggestions or ideas are appreciated :)

Thanks so far

Regards

Peter

If you use clouds for the fog you have to check "receive shadows from surfaces" under the cloud's quality tab.

Hmm, strange. Maybe try to experiment with moving the sun or the camera, until the godrays appear. How are your settings regarding the sun's heading and the camera angle?

I always get the rays above the trees but not in between.
Here are my settings. I put a finished render also in this thread at a later time:

The sun's elevation is quite low. See if you get godrays when the sun is a bit higher.

Is it still possible with TG 2.4? I'd like to try something like that in the future.
