Nice idea. It's very hard to capture a scene looking from shade to bright light. It tends to be too contrasty IMO.
Suggestions: move the bird or change position (it just distracts where it is). I'd change the pov slightly and look up more, loosing the first dark patch in the foreground, and maybe look slightly up hill (or down!). I'd also improve the trees by tweaking the bump displacement on the bark, it's too flat and plastic like at the moment. Lots of potential here.

Thx Kevin for your ideas. I agree with the plastic looking of the trees. I will see what can I do with the bark...and how.. :D i am not very advanced yet.
And when u say change the POV, that means the position of the sun?

POV means Point of view (render camera position)

and I agree with Kevin's suggestions. Big potential here

Yes, it's going to be great! I agree about the tree's bark and I also think, that using the Cubic B-spline pixel filter in the renderer's extra tab would make the whole image softer. Imho it's quite a bit too sharp at the moment.

I do like compositions where the foreground is dark, so I would change the POV a bit to the right and up. Maybe a fill light to slightly lighten the shadowy areas. And the trees' bump indeed. But good start!

I like these hill shots a lot. They are not too simple for me. I have had lots of trouble getting scale right. And it can be difficult to get a hill instead of a mountain in the first place. But this is a good start! And I agree with what others are saying about some of the details.

By the way, archonforest. I do think this stuff we do here is Art. Landscapes can be beautiful! And I look forward to seeing the work you make when you master the tools. Im sure it will be great when you finish.

Thx guys for the comments and the hints. I will see what can I do tonight when I get home.
To the TheBadger: Thx and I 100% agree with you. I love nature especially forests :) and yes what we do here is absolutely an art for me too. I am really enjoy watching the uploaded pictures of the others and I feel good when I able to show something as an exchange. : :D

I will post the updated version of the Forest scene soon.

Good Start,
although to me it looks more like an old orchard than a forest.
Best Regards,

Now I know springtime is coming. Just soften shadows and lighting a little bit more.
