Title: How to rotate a Image map shader
Post by: russe166 on April 16, 2014, 08:43:17 AM
Hi!

I would like to position a wake behind the boat that I can not turn or move in the scene.

[attach=3]

For the wake I used an 'Image map shader' with a displacement image, but I did not manage
to rotate the 'Image map shader', so that the wake fits correctly behind the boat.

The question is now, how can I turn the wake without having to turn the source picture in the image editing program?

You have used a Geog Image Map shader which expects geo data in your example file. You can connect the Geog Image shader to a Transform shader and the Transform shader can rotate it.

A regular Image Map shader, (not the Geog type) could be set to use Camera projection. You'd  make a second camera for only that projection purpose placed above the water and projecting the image at any angle and size you work out.

You might also use your image to create a height field and then position and size the height field accordingly.

Like the composition.
Worth making a bigger one I'd say.
