Title: Numbers
Post by: kaedorg on May 16, 2014, 03:46:54 AM
I'm looking for 3D numbers obj files.
Specially a 8.
I don't have a specific idea of the form and material I'm looking for.
If anyone can help on this.

I can make you an 8 if you want. Any specific 8? Simple, flattish or rounded?

That's nice Ulco
Ok let me explain you the idea.
I just bought a house few weeks ago. Number of the house is eight.
I had the idea to replace the basic frontdoor number (as example here)
by a 40 x 20 cms terragen landscape including the number.
First idea is a seascape as I did for my bookmarks with a 8 floating on the sea.
It should be original even if a lot of houses have some ceramics like second picture.

Three eights... 3/8  ;) Hope they suit you. You can of course change the colors and bump....

Thanks a lot Ulco. I gonna try these. I'm sure one of them will be perfect.

Just a little question. Is it possible to limit the lightsource effect to one object ?

I got my solution (luminosity to 1 with transform input shader in luminosity function)
I change the color.
Thanks for marble but I just bought a house not a castle  ;)

Here is a fast first try of the idea (low quality render). Could also work on foam around the 8.

Thanks again Ulco

Is this what it takes to convert a house into a home?

Part of it indeed. Second part is to give a name to the house (breton name).
Usually house names start by Ti or Ty which means house
Names can be in wrought iron, or on sheet of ceramic or wood.

HA! We are in the process of trying to buy a home now too. I did not think TG could be a part of that until now.  ;D :)

How about a spotlight on the eight? I think that would be nicer than luminosity.

Spotlight could be an idea. Need to change colours. My wife thinks is too dark. I agree with her.
The idea is ok with her. She just said, do not touch the walls  :P
