Another test of Moss on Rock. Added one meter cracks to rock. Foreground rock uses painted shader for moss placement; whereas the distant rock uses a distribution shader.
Very Nice!
Well done Bob...prefer the one that uses the Distribution shader myself. Didn't know a Paint shader worked on objects....gonna try that.

Thanks Bobby. Here is where that maybe adding a surface shader to the object selecting intersect underlying might be the best thing to do when using the distribution shader.

Well a Surface layer
does everything almost that a Distribution shader does plus it adds the intersect layers TAB
Give it a go Bobby, would be nice to see what you come up with.
Nice one!
Not sure about the surface texturing on the big rock but in general i like this scene :)
Good looking imge!
Maybe it looks different with a bigger resolution but to me the moss on the distant big rock (left) looks more natural.
Cheers

Thank you Kadri. Yes, I think the distribution shader is better than using the painted shader for the moss distribution of the moss. Also, lighting has a big effect on the results.

Thank you; yes, I agree. As I said above, the distribution shader yields better results.
two thumbs up!
That rock just rock ;)
