A glorious sky and a fine open vista! Beautiful image.

Thank you both Kadri and Zaxxon. The only thing that bugs me is that foreground cactus. Note the lower portion where a section appears lighter than the rest of it. When this object appears in other backgrounds, there are no issues. It only happens in this image.

Great image, Bob!
The upper portion of the catus is brighter too. No idea what could have caused this, but it seems that some render buckets render different than the others?!

Thank you Hannes. The enviro light is set at eight giving the best foreground illumination for the sun's altitude. I think maybe this caused the banding in the lower part of the cactus.

Very nice! Curious dilemma with the cactus too. Let us know if it's the  enviro light value that is causing it :)

Extreme value sometimes tend to give strange results, very intriguing. Like negative transparency  ;)

This is true. I've tried this model on several other images over the years; and, except for one other instance, I've never had an issue like this - so, I expect this was the very high enviro-light setting that caused the problem.

Good desert atmospherics.

On the unusual settings front, try negative pancake value on fake stones sometime. To paraphrase Forest Gump's mother : Terragen is like  "a box of chocolates, you never know what your going to get"

Thank you; and, for your suggestion. Will explore that in the future.
