Title: Sea foam and cliff
Post by: Oleg S. on June 28, 2014, 02:13:05 AM
I wanted to use my previous experience and the experience of others to create a beautiful landscape with a sufficiently realistic sea, cliff and finished composition. So I expect you comments and suggestions about this.
Thank you!

The foam at the base of the cliff is really good. Perhaps some light cloud and some extra plants at the top.

This is quite good already, but I would say you need to work on the sea a bit. It's a bit undefined and the light specks disturb the image. The land and cliffs are very good. Perhaps decrease amount of highlights, or decrease the wave roughness. The foam could have  less coverage, I mean reduce coverage of the surface shader, so it's a bit more transparent. That's my opinion.

What I need to work on the foam it I understand, but you have to pay for realism many hours of experimentation and, as a rule, very long rendering. Similarity of the world created by God, a difficult task! With regard to vegetation, it can certainly add to the eye did not miss, but it is the vegetation characteristic of this landscape. I continue to work on this scene. Thank you again.

The cliff shader is really well done. The only thing I would do is to lower the see roughness. This just looks like some cliff area in britain here in France which are indeed often barren (appart from the grass) due to the strong winds that often occurs there. Very good work!

This has a lot of potential. In my opinion the terrain part is perfect. The rock structure is fantastic. The sparse vegetation is absolutely OK too.
As Ulco said, the water needs some improvement. If you'd add some small localised clouds here and there where the water hits the rock, you could simulate some spray.
I'd also add some atmospherics. Some mist or clouds or whatever. It may look good too with a completely overcast sky (and increased occlusion weight in the GISD settings).

Nothing much to add to what others said already. Looks good.
