Title: Just got here..Nice place!
Post by: Evets on June 28, 2014, 10:30:54 PM
Hey all...
Been reading for awhile..figured I would join in. Just started Terragen 3 weeks ago so am not too far along. Been a Lightwave user for 18 years so this puppy is a little different from what I'm used to. In fact it's like learning Chinese. The juice is worth the squeeze though.

Have a question..How do I illuminate a controlled space..as in candlelight or glow outside from window type light? Can a sunlight be toned down enough with very small values to resemble some kind of fade out?   Thanx...glad to be here.!

Welcome to the forum, glad to have another enthusiast on board. You'll find your way in TG3, but I advice you to look over as many older threads as possible and use the search button. There's a wealth of information, and samples out here. And start working in the node network, and name your shaders appropriately.

As for the light; you can decrease the sun's strength, and use light sources at specific locations (inside rooms). Experiment with values for strength and distance, etc.

 Thanx Dune..
Appreciate the input. Found the Light Source, its a bit tricky, but getting the hang of it. I figure I'll just do all the tutorials I can and continue reading everything I can get my hands on for awhile till I get my legs a bit. Thanks for the tip on naming Nodes, makes it alot easier to keep track. Hope to post something worthwhile soon..
