Title: Problems with importing TER-Files from WorldMachine
Post by: ThinkPink on July 20, 2007, 10:12:14 AM
perhaps this question is already answered in an other thread ....

I want to load TER-files generated with World Machine. it works fine but ..... all the loaded TER-files will be shown in TG2 UNDER the normal terrain level ???
If I use TGA-Files instead of TER the terrain is very soft and "low" and not as rough as the original file.

what's wrong? any ideas?

Look here: http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=382.0 (http://forums.planetside.co.uk/index.php?topic=382.0)

I do not quite understand it myself, but there is something called 'adjust vertical'.

Thank Volker for that helpfull link! it works! :)

Add Operator -> Heightfield adjust vertical and then push sliders over the limit (if you know what I mean ;D  ) for "multiply height by" and "add height" and the loaded terrain goes upwards

strange software this software ...  ;)

This is actually a problem with how WM exports to the .ter format, not a TG2 problem. It occurs with TG 0.9 as well, but since the terrain is not a displacement on a sphere the only effect is to have the terrain very much below the default water level in most cases. The next version of WM will fix this problem.
