Great start.  Now to add some vegetation.  Look at the attached file to se how you can make your strata more interesting - play with the PF and the PF displacement.

Maybe some twisted trees to add to your bushes.

Here is an update. Some veggies and some clouds. I think it looks better but will see with some more populations...

Do soft shadows.

Do soft shadows.

I will but it is because of the edge of the shadow on the rock where the sun and the shadow meet?

You need more light to the bottom half; try a slight bluish sun without shadows and a minus 45ยบ height, opposite the shadow wall, strength 0.2 or so. And you need a point of interest in front; tree, balloon, cloud, airplane, birds....

Thx dune for the ideas. I will try as soon as my current render finishes. Trying the soft shadows now as Upon Infinity said so. Seems to me he was right. :D Then I put more clouds in the "valley". Then I will post another render and see if I can manage your negative ??? sun? Interesting idea :D

I never get tired of hearing that.  ;)

Also, you don't need a second sun to get light into your shadows.  Just increase your GI strength on surfaces.

Hehe...
Thx for the tip about the sun. I will try both ideas(Dune and you) as I am sure I will get more understanding about light. Not sure if I will use it as my purpose was to create this big contrast. I saw some pix on the net like this. The sun goes down and practically everything is dark except the very top of the mountain.

Render finished with soft shadows on. Looks better for sure. :D
I put more clouds... kinda like it but not sure. Next render will come with some birds and hopefully a tree at the side or something ???. Anycow c and c pls on the clouds or generally overall look. (I know that the clouds are a bit low-res. I will fix that for the final image)

I like the clouds being in the foreground....I would lose the one in the background.  Image is coming along nicely.

You probably used higher detail and AA settings here? With these settings you don't need more light. I noticed that too when doing a crop render of a bird in low detail/AA and high; lighting was much different.

The clouds at the back actually looks bad.... I will work on that more. Thx Lady... :D
Dune the settings are the same(max as using the free right now) but cranked up the GI on surface a bit.
