Hi!
I have just finished the animated .gif for the 'Strata and outcrops shader v2'
http://www.planetside.co.uk/wiki/index.php?title=Strata_And_Outcrops_Shader_v2 (http://www.planetside.co.uk/wiki/index.php?title=Strata_And_Outcrops_Shader_v2)
and for the "Fractal Detail Tab" of the 'Heightfield Shader'
http://www.planetside.co.uk/wiki/index.php?title=Heightfield_Shader_-_Fractal_Detail_Tab (http://www.planetside.co.uk/wiki/index.php?title=Heightfield_Shader_-_Fractal_Detail_Tab)
This is awesome. Big thx for doing it :D
Excellent, keep up the good work! It's greatly appreciated. :)

THAT IS SOOOOOO HELPFUL!! Thank you from me too :)
Cheers man, these are really helpful!
Good job, man! That'll shed some light on these settings for sure.
Visualizing those settings helps so much. Nice work :)
Fantastic! Pictures tell more than words.
Thank you VERY much.
Thank you for your answers!
In the last few months I made animated gifs of almost all shaders of the 'Terragen preset scene' and a few more
(like the crater shader, lake, Surface Layer - Effects Tab,Heightfield erode v3 01).
The hard part of it is to find out what each parameter is good for and to find the right scale to show it in the .gifs.
Very Helpful, and very much appreciated, thanks!

8) You little darling; At last the WIKI has been brought into the 21st Century. As a noobie returnee to Terragen I am so very grateful for your dedication to the cause. :D
Now those are very helpful, as Hannes says, A pic is worth a thousand words. There are more of these in the WIKI,,,guessing they're also yours...great community spirit mate.
Glad to see this is still being worked on and our "encouragement" was helpful. :D

Hi!
I have just finished the animated .gif for the 'Alpine fractal shader v2'
http://www.planetside.co.uk/wiki/index.php?title=Alpine_Fractal_Shader_v2
and
http://www.planetside.co.uk/wiki/index.php?title=Alpine_Fractal_Shader_v2_-_Settings_Tab
Awesome...learned somethings right off...thanks again for doing these.
Niiiiice! :)
Beautifully done! Thanks so much, on behalf of everybody.
Thanks a lot again! Fantastic!
I have one question: on the third GIF of your last post's first link ("Lead-in octaves 2") the structure almost looks like elephant skin or even cracked mud. Is this a regular alpine fractal?
Yes, it has the standard settings, but the Lead-in octaves are 3, 4 and 5. The camera is placed in the orbit of the planet.

the settings are displayed in the
dialog settings tab above the gifs...I was curious as well so tried a few and those settings are the start point.
Great! So could the alpine fractal with the appropriate scale- and lead-in octaves settings also be used for cracked surfaces?

Looks like, masked by a paint or SS shader...gonna try that.
I thought that looked interesting too Hannes. Did not see something like that from the alpine before. More proof that this gif project is very useful!

a quick & dirty says yup...here's my starting point on a default terrain, alpine constrained to the flat area.
Great, Bobby! Looks almost like a macro photography of human skin.

It does have that quality. I figger this technique, being based as it is on the Alpine shader, will be reserved for when I have lots of time to render but it works really well and is quite adaptable...
Yeah, Hannes, you can use it on your knights to turn them into fractilized zombies :D
;D ;D ;D ;D

Oh Ulco, now you've done it...you mentioned them and now the zombies will know where we are, hee hee hee...
