Title: Desert Flowers
Post by: pclavett on September 01, 2014, 07:24:46 AM
Hi All !
My job is still preventing me from being very regular here but cannot give it up right now as it is permitting me to buy some nice stuff such as the new Mac Pro this was done on ! So will keep it for now but try to get some time to work out with TG3.
I was in UTAH earlier this year for some hiking around Moab with my wife and figured I would try something to that theme.
I worked on this for 2 weeks and here is the first final render with no fancy atmospherics...next versions will be focusing on this ! There is no post processing ! Everything is procedural except for the objects. No image textures and the terrain is Fractal with a lot of tweaks with Smoothing Surface Layers applied with Painted Shaders where bizarre outcrops appeared....good practice here !!!
The Veggies are all from Xfrogs except for Dune's Thundraheather (thanks Ulco) and some grass tgo I got earlier and sorry not to remember who from (it was labeled tufty_grass...if anyone wants to take credit for this nice tgo) !
Glad to be here again and hope I can make it a more regular thing !
Take care !
Paul

Very good Paul. Glad you made it back to Utah. Except for Arizona, Utah is my favorite places to visit. Still remember our times together up there with Steve (stbc) and Buzzz.

Nice image.
The lighting-color makes me feel to change it a little. Did you make any postwork?

Quite nice work on the far rocks, great shapes. I feel like the foreground is maybe a bit too saturated and flat in lighting, but it has nice detail.
