Here's a non standard style TG3 image done mainly to illustrate pops on imported objects. I'll say right now no comments on the golf green lawn as this is a Castle and as such has a manicured lawn, heh heh heh. The trees are pretty much where the original model had crappy 2D trees and are popped onto the gravel object so I had to mask that out with a paint shader as a SSS wouldn't work for a T shape. The grass is just totally covering the grass object. The model is Baroque Castle for Poser from Renderosity Freestuff and I extracted the textured .obj by loading the cr2 (Character file) into DAZ and exporting the full model and sorting it out in PoseRay.
Close up of the entry coming to show the lighting. In that I figured out which objects were glass and made them so, and added transparency to the curtain level so I could put lights in some rooms. None of which is even vaguely visible in the large image.
I like the overall view of this render. :D
So the grassy areas are in fact flat objects on which you popped grass? That way you won't need masks; interesting way of doing this.
Looks really great, Bobby. The grass looks indeed "manicured" like you mentioned :). Maybe some color variations in the trees would make it look even more natural?!
And the background (the brown areas) seems a bit empty. Otherwise fantastic!

Yeah, and if you make them not visible even better. Gonna keep this in mind for the future...The object came as one but I separated the gravel and grass objects.
As for the grassy areas:cool idea Bobby!
The empty background makes it look like some sort of oasis,
may well be a way to go perhaps.
Keep it grassy man. ;)
Well I had thought about popping further up the hill but the castle is so heavy with textures I didn't want to crash the scene. I may get brave and do that and mess up the texture as well....for the time being here's a close up of the entry.

So enamored of TG 3 that I sometimes forget I have the Full TG 2...I think I may re do this in TG2 and populate more creatively.....
Wow, that closeup looks great! I really like the lighting.
So this model is a Renderosity freebie?

My error Hannes, was moderating there so long I just assume old stuff was from there.
It's actually from here;

a site I joined to verify freebies when doing the aforesaid job. It may still be free....it's from DAZ, 20 bux...sorry...bought it a loooong time ago obviously

I might have gotten it herebeing the pauper I am

I think 20 bucks is OK. Really a fine model. And you did a great job modifying it to your needs.

PoseRay helps a lot in locating the objects like windows and things that will need transparency, mainly why I run the cr2 thru DAZ first so those appear in Poseray, as you can just arrow through and make notes...and thanks but no real modifying other than finding the glass and curtains and adding lights.

heh heh, and buying it saves you from unsubscribing to his spa...er mailng list....
It's looking really good, Bobby. Will it be pasttime and thus sparkling clean? ;) Or recent times, so a little dirt or stains on the walls could give it more reality? The GISD is really visible, perhaps a tad too much, as these white walls will reflect light in the crevices. But that's my humble opinion.

Thanks Ulco. Yeah dirt is a must but the model already came with so many textures it almost chokes TG3 as it is...I'll likely try to dirty up the textures already on with a secondary set of textures. What you see with the GI is likely over use of Ambient Occlusion. A little goes a long way with that. Twas an 11 hour render as it is so it'll be a day or so till I get back to it. I've hit the music part of my week.
