Here's a closer up view of the swamp house. Thanks for checking it out.
Awesome Bobby, I like this one much more than your previous! Great light and mood, great model too. Now, get your ass to Iceland!!!
Moody image Bobby,nice.
Did you notice the strange tiling(?) on the foremost tree
on the right side?

Yeah I did man, seems to be a product of the fog shadows as without the fog the plants are delightfully random...gonna do another render to see if I can fix that. It's an over night one so maybe tomorrow if it gets finished or indeed improved on that level.
And thanks Ulco and J...I feel the same way.

Thanks Hannes et al...a tip of the hat should go to cypher for
the hole in cloud set up which has given me much needed control over the sum....
Looks great. The only thing is a little more contrast that could be made already in post :)

Already on my 'tweak list', good call Kadri
Misty, moody, swampy, really fine. I bet when you look outside you might think you're in Iceland! Looks pretty cold up in your neck of the woods.

It's cold enough here in Manitoba Canada for us to have the majority I believe of the Icelandic Diaspora...the town of Gimli, 60 or so miles North of Winnipeg, was founded by Icelanders.
Is it really called "Gimli"? Like LOTR's dwarf? ;D

Yup...Icelandic must have been a source for Tolkien...it's as screwed up a language as Welsh/Gaellic with whole irrelevant sylables in words...well nigh unpronouncable unless you grew up speaking/reading it or are extremely dedicated to learning it.
Beautiful moody render!
Wow, love it. Did you make the 3D model of the house yourself?
How long did it take you to render? what are your computer's spec?

Thanks, and no, I didn't model it, but would have been a dawdle in my non functioning Imagine 3D. I found it on sharecg.com.
the previous render was 4hr+ a bit.
This one (final render...really) with tweaks (upped contrast, re seeded both grasses and upped the detail on the fog and atmosphere) and as much detail as I could get into it was around 8 hrs...over night really. But I've likely got the slowest box on this site. Mine took 45 min. for the benchmark. I think my box is sick. A fast box could do this in 1/2 hr at most I figger. At least using the figures from the benchmark site as a benchmark, heh heh heh.
Thanks again everyone for all the comments along the way. Turned an idea into I think a very cool image. Gonna do a print for a friend as a present (68 b day) a big fan of Creepy Horror graphics.
it really is an outstanding image, Bobby.

Got curious and searched it out again

Very nice image, indeed!
By the way, there is a lot of reference data and imagery posted in the Iceland forum area. :)

A really nice peace of work Bobby.
