Title: Not of our Land
Post by: cyphyr on December 02, 2014, 08:27:20 AM
Kind of inspired by the Iceland challenge.
I wanted to create an atmosphere that looked read yet completely alien.  I've used coloured PF's as the input for some very thick (8000m), very defuse (0.0005) cumulus clouds and 20+ cloud layers for the volcanic plume. Render time is 17h28m at 0.5/3.

You care for some comment? I really like the sky and smoke, they're excellent! But... I think you can do better with the land. I don't like the stream and the seemingly unfinished rocks/dirt, and the lonely tree. Sorry Richard, but I hope you'll see what I mean and can make a really awesome landcover.

I like this. Especially the clouds on the left side and its colors.  ;)

Hi Richard,
The atmo rocks!
Is it only a huge diffuse cloud layer, without an atmo node?
I like the distant clouds also.
Cheers

(...just read "erection"... ;D)

Great atmospheric and volcano. But I agree with Ulco. The terrain could be improved, Richard.

Well first of Wow...that's some smoke there. I agree on the ground but it seems obvious to me this was all about the smoke. And the fact we all think it needs more work almost makes it perfectly alien as we are constantly trying to see things like they are here...and that ain't here for sure, so congrats on the alien part of the work flow as well. I don't suppose at 17h28m we'll be seeing an update....
