Title: Rock in between
Post by: Dune on December 21, 2014, 02:45:41 AM
The 'in between' means that I had some time between commissions  ;)
Some experiments with the same file until I decided the stream wasn't so good.

Oh man I like the first one. Very close to a place I know up north of me. Great little place.

Great rocks! (which I'm sure I'll never learn how to make)  Agree with Kadri, the stream in the last is pretty good.

Very cool rocks indeed! I like this wild, puffy grasses too, although the scales on the last image seem odd to me.

The rock formation is exceptionally good. Very realistic. This is what we see here in the areas of the southwest. Would like to see this available at NWDA.

Wow these are just amazing. I really do love the rock. The water in the first one is pretty well done too if I may say so myself.

The grasses in the last one seem really soft compared to the sharpness of the scene. I don't know. something about it seems off, but I really like the last one a lot.

The fluffy grass is derived from ST Pampa Grass (like Zaxxon also showed a while ago), which can be extremely big (meter or so). I made some tests with different sizes, but liked this the best. I also had the idea to put more grasses in (these ar just 2), and flowers and whatnot, but it's ok... off to something else again.

I like them all; but, especially the third image. Is the stream via Painted shader?

No, I hardly ever use that. It's SSS.

Nothing short of spectacular Ulco. And I do like the water, just needs more foam as it looks to be fast flowing among those rocks.
