Title: Strange artefacts
Post by: nooby on December 25, 2014, 05:10:13 PM
Can some one help me to find out what this strange artefacts/ square blotchiness on my render are ?
In my test render 1200px I couldn't see it, but it appeared in my final render which was rather huge file.

Dunno what causes that. When it happened to me I saved the project and shut down TG3, had a coffee, got over my hissy fit and started her up again and it all worked fine...dunno if this will help you but it did me.

This happened to me with clouds as well. I too saved and closed my project and reoppened it. Worked fine for a couple previews, but happened again with my full (half) render I did when I went to bed. So I'm not sure what randomly causes it. It may be a complex cloud system as it happened on my "Mt Kiat" project which has a lot of cloud warping to achieve my rings (as seen in my tag).

I would try setting the cloud Acceleration Cache to None (Highest Detail) on the Optimization tab of your cloud layer(s). Try that first. It does look like render tile boundaries though.  Have you changed the bucket size?
