Another WIP. These are crops of the groundwork so far.

Looks fantastic especially the grassy area!
The only thing I noticed is the river bed. They are green instead of brownish?

Well, maybe they're algae floating by  ;) But thanks for pointing it out, I'll take a look and may make it browner.

Looks great! Agree with Archonforest. A bit more murky, more brownish water would look better imho.

How about brightening image up with more light? It looks spooky. :(

I like the algae floating ... ok - in the second image there are a little bit too much of them  :)

Seems that my monitor has very high brightness settings - I don't think it's too spooky.

archonforest - Ulco has shared some insight and tgc(s) here

should get you started.

I know what happened, I faked water by using a darkened ground color+ reflective shader. Gave it a brownish darkening, but I might replace with water shader for the final render.
The ground is something everybody can do, just a bunch of colors and displacements.

Yeah that's right, and the ParkGrass is part of it indeed.
And the darkness, well, I liked it quite dark, but I have to make three panes of a wall, so in the end I will pull all colors together, probably lighter indeed to give people a pleasant viewing and not get depressed  ::)

Here's the whole image (still WIP) in low res.

I got my hands on GIS data, so now it's perfect in heights.

Really pretty great. Has a bit of a feel like a sculpture or a hand made model (like a train set). But thats not a complaint, I rather like it in this case. Has the feel of a museum display. Like I am looking down onto a table top.  8) Always loved those things when I went to a museum, still do.
