I've made another cover art for a tune and this is probably the most
abstract image I've ever made with Terragen =)
I will post a link to the tune once it's uploaded ;-)
Regards,
Terje
Awesome stuff. Like it a lot.
Yeah post the link for the muzax pls!
Thank you. I'm glad to hear you like it :-).
Once the tune is uploaded, I will update this thread with the link ;-)
Looks nice.
WOW! Really not something I would have thought to see from TG 8) Pretty cool man.
Thanks guys :-)
The render really shows the title, which is great! Well thought out!
great job.... how did you make this?

I thought it would be pretty obvious here in this forum how I made it ;-)

The sphere is obvious. The application of a vortex shader is obvious. Not so obvious is the manner in which it is applied. Kind of looks like water and atmo shaders together...
Agree with UI, what was being asked I think was method of as it is quite unusual indeed.
Ah.... I see :)
It is just a terrain and some clouds with a vortex warp shader applied. The terrain look similar to
water cause of its shader.
Cheers

Thanks :)
Great. Now let's see it animated. ;)
Thanks man, cool trick...well done. And it would look awesome animated I'll just bet!
Hahaha. One frame takes way to long to render for me to even consider animating it ;-)

heh heh heh, hence my italics on would
But you can just reduce the resolution to, say 800x600 with a little bit lower detail. Animation would look cool nonetheless I think. I'm compiling one right now at 800x600, det=0.61, AA=5 and it's not too bad. :) Still about four-five days of rendering... But I do it in parts.
Ok. I'll consider it, but it would take a little more time for me. I haven't done much animation with Terragen, so I would have to figure out how to do it first :-)
Cheers
Animation is easy. And Pixel Plow is cheap. :D
- Oshyan
Maybe it is easy, but I have a feeling this one will be a little trickier than normal. It's just because I have my vision of how this is suppose to look in motion and I don't think I can make that happen without a third party software to add those touches. It's a little difficult to explain, but I will give it a try once I have some time :-)
And I didn't think of Pixel Plow. I will check that out as well ;-)
sjefen, Oshyan is a witness that I started my interest in animation just this week and believe me - it is faaaaar, far easier than creating actual scene in Terragen! My first thought was just like yours - "darn it, it's gotta be tough!". No. :) I can give you some simple directions as one beginner to another. ;D
Cool :-). I'll let you know when I start, cause I need some directions ;-)
Sure. Just mail me whenever you're ready.
Love this forum...most helpful place I've been since we started imagine3d.org a few/bunch of years back.

yeah, I saw the sphere and the vortex shader right away too. What I meant was that it looks synthetic rather than organic, which I thought was kind of a cool result, and not really very typical. :)
Looks really great... Also I look forward to the soundtrack for the cover :)
Some days ago I watched some discovery documentary about black holes - OK - they were not bad, but they better should have used your cover as basis ;)

I'm really sorry to say that this track won't be released :-(. At least not for now. He never got satisfied with it and decided to put it on ice. Maybe one day he will pick it up again and finish it, and if so, I will of course share it here ;-)
Very good and fitting for an album cover, especially if it contains New Age music.
