Post by: zionner on August 01, 2007, 08:42:12 AM
Hi All

One Of my mates has given me his Mac..Since he got a new one...and while I Use My New Pc Rather than this Mac..I tried to download Terragen 2 To Give it a try on the Mac...How Ever Whenever I Try to Open it nothing happens, Any Idea whats going on?

If it helps: I also went into the file contents and opened the Terragen 2 File  in the Mac OS Folder...And This is What it came up with:
Last login: Wed Aug  1 13:02:54 on console

Um... why are you trying to run it through the command line?  When you download the tech preview, just double click on the application.  You should never have to go digging around in the package itself, which is what the file path there indicates you are doing.  Perhaps you got a corrupted download... go ahead and try it again.

I know how to run the application..(i may be a noob at Macs...but im not THAT bad) I keep trying to run it when The Application appears in the bar at the bottom..them dissaprears from it again...thats when i tryed looking in the contents and running itthrough the command line...I posted the commandline to see if it would help people to know what was wrong..and ive tryed the download again and again

Ah, if it appears and then disappears that probably means that there is something that the program expects to find within the OS but that it can't find.  How old is this Mac exactly?  If it's more than 2 years old, it might still have Panther installed, with which Terragen is not compatible.  Click on the little Apple menu at the top left, click "About this Mac," and if the operating system is below 10.4, you can't run Terragen on that Mac.

I think you mean 10.3.9, but yeah, it needs an OS upgrade to be able to run TG.

Hi Zionner,

TG2 Mac needs OS X 10.4 or newer to run. I think it would at least say something in the Console ( /Applications/Utilities/Console.app ) when it quit, but I'm not really sure. I don't have a 10.3.9 machine handy to check it on.

Regards,

Jo
