Car paint shaders like that seem to be really tricky.I had only little success with
metallic effects or pearl effects so far.

Ah, metallic car paint; is that the problem? Maybe you can accomplish such by adding a sharp reflection masked by tiny dots (tiny fractal or fake stones as mask), just the way to add extra sparkle to snow.
If so, this may be a start.
