Title: Beside the stream
Post by: Henry Blewer on February 28, 2015, 12:47:18 PM
Xfrog plants with Dune's reeds and Walli's ryegrass. I am still working on the plant distributions; and adding more plants. The clouds need work also.

I used a cumulus cloud for the fog. This seems to have brightened the scene.

Nice set up here!
I dont like a few of the tress though, for obvious reasons. I do like very much the cliff area. Needs more work, but this could be very convincing when all details are done.

Excellent work - I like the composition and the use of the trees. The centre tree trunk needs more texture and the mist could be a hint denser maybe.

Thanks for the comments. The trees are all vanilla XFrog from bundle 1. I have the obj files on a bunch of DVD's which I need to import onto the HD.
The plants do not have displacement maps which is a bummer. So, when I figure out the new UV mapping Blender uses, I'll fix that. The color image maps will have to be tweaked also for bump/displacement mapping.
I also want to subdivide the trunks so they render 'rounder'. Still, Xfrog had a great sale for Christmas and I am happy with the selection of plants I now have,

Well I was gonna mention that nude tree pop as well but I'll let that lie as you've announced intentions of dealing with that. Other than that an excellent image...coming along nicely. Look forward to the one with fixed trees.
