Recently saw this in 3D (real3D). Short on plot, but great effects. The environments were really well done and the attention to detail made this movie one of those that if you're not seeing it in the cinema, then you're missing what all the work was about. Here's a link about Method Studios, who did most of the shots; Maya based with some Vue work (nothing that TG couldn't have done I suspect), also on a side note, the waterfalls were evidently live footage from Iceland (!!) that was comped in.
