For some reason I'm wanting to do close up renders lately. ;D
Well, it gives a good sense of reality.
Look good and nice concept. The focus might look more impactful if it was on the petals nearest the camera. I know that it would be a bit of guesswork as terragen can't give distance on specific object parts, only the centre, however.
Yes, the blur distance is still hard to get right. Mostly trial and error. It would be very handy if there were some color overlay to show what is say 90-100% sharp. It's handy if you know or remember settings from your camera.
Please post the relevant render settings. I never never never get plants that look that good. The grass for example, I never get that much detail in my grass, ever
Michael,
It's not so much render settings (.6, 6), as it is me tinkering with the image maps. Once you get the maps and lighting how you want it the rest is easy. ;D
Quotetinkering with the image maps
How so? Walli plants? What should I be doing to walli plants ??? Thats the mowed grass from walli in your image, no? What did you do?
Normally, you wouldn't have to mess with Wallis' plants. Rendering this close requires getting as much detail as you can to make it look "real". That is why I mess with the image maps...............make adjustments to diffuse, translucency, bump, specular............. add maps, subtract maps, etc. until I get what I want. Which can take a lot of time.
