Title: How to get the most of shadow photorealist details in dense clouds? No flat...
Post by: vinyvince on March 31, 2015, 05:42:21 AM

Get the details right in light and edge are easy.
Was wondering what are the best parameters and trick which could help to get high level details in the shadows of dense clouds and avoid a "flat" look....

Thanks for your help

Though I can't help with the info you need, have you checked FrankB's presets and luc's clouds at NWDA the only terragen store. They're the masters as far as I'm concerned and one or 2 of their inexpensive sets could likely not only solve you problem but add inspiration as well.
Not really what you asked but best I can do...hang in though and the late risers will no doubt have some great ideas which I as well will be watching for.

Bobby is right. You want to download some clods here and see what settings are changed and what numbers are used. There are even more for you too look at in the sticky.

Good clouds are pretty easy. Great clouds can be kinda hard. But judging by your website, you will get it pretty quick. Just study some clip files first.

Welcome to the forum.

Holy cow, that's pretty awesome work on your reel! I feel very humble when I see that.
