I am trying to mask a power fractal displacement shader with a paint mask. The displacement shader does not get restricted to the paint area but is applied instead to the entire terrain. Am I doing something wrong or is this normal behavior?
It should work. Perhaps "invert" is checked in the displacement shader's mask settings? If you still can't get it to work, we can take a look at your .TGD file and try to help.

Thank you. The problem appears to be something else. Everything was working predictably, and then... it wasn't. I may have inadvertently change one of the other texture settings. More trouble shooting is needed. Knowing that is should work is helpful though.
