Used here for the terrain is a Heightfield load of a .ter of 'Bright Angel' (DEM); a region of the Grand Canyon. I combined this with a portion of mhaze's 'FlakeyGraniteCliff.tgd' which he shared recently. Reference: http://www.planetside.co.uk/forums/index.php/topic,19918.0.html .
Subsequently, I added to this dandelo's 'PGS Evolution v2' surface layer for procedural grass and his tree population 'Larch'. Additionally, added a population of Walli's dry bushes #8. Both have their respective diffuse colors increased.
The setup for the water is one by Dune for the foam.
Enjoy.
I think the coastal rocks need some more work; perhaps blacken them, or have them overgrown by shrub/dead trees. There's a certain mismatch between what these rounded rocks look like and the terrain with the trees, which looks much larger. Or dump the big coastal rocks altogether and make a nice pebbly/bouldery flattish beach.
Thanks Ulco, I'll try those suggestions. During the beginning of constructing the image, I had the smoother looking beach. Should have kept going in that direction.
Also, maybe trying a different sun location might help.
As I've said before I really like MASSIVE renders and this is a gooder but I will agree with Ulco the rock work needs tweaking/replacing. The rocks in proximity to choppy water would have varying wetness...easier to do a pebble beach and likely more effective for contrast to the massive cliffs.
