Title: Mars sunset
Post by: Seth on May 23, 2015, 09:53:13 PM
I kinda like the still shot on this thread there : http://www.planetside.co.uk/forums/index.php/topic,19968.0.html

And I wanted to try to do something similar. I didn't spend too much time on it, but I think that it's exactly the kind of easy realistic renders people can easily achieve :)
So, here is my first 45 minutes spend on it (render time 16 min).

It is far from perfect, not as dark in the foreground and not as moody, but I thought it might give some people some ideas to recreate that kind of renders :)

For darkness, increase haze density perhaps?

Ahh, I posted in the other thread. But Ill say it here too. Another nice image Seth.
Can't argue that you have a keen technical mind and a talent to make good images with it  8) Nice to see some images from you again.

Nope, it already is around 14 and if I increase it, I'll lost more contrast and everything will become more... grey and dull.
And I'll lost my sun too.

Thank you TheBadger for your kind words :)

That is high and your explanation does make sense.

Here is another try at this and the clip file for others to modify.

Welcome. I figured others can use it because in all honesty i do no know how close it is but there is always room for experimentation.
