Trying to keep the creative juices flowing. Plants are from Walli / NWDA except for the heather from Ulco.
This is very nice. I feel the heat 8)
Nice render indeed!
Very photorealistic. Great image! The title says it all. Makes me thirsty. I think I'll have a cold beer immediately!
Mission accomplished I'd say. Great DoF...TG's or PhSh?
Just had a cold beer. Your fault. ;)
Now that's something I will gladly take the blame for!
Bobby, The depth of field was done in TG.

even weller done then...I struggle with that and have only got passing fair results, yours are like a camera.
Looks good 8)
Very Nice! Also a nice use of Walli's vegetation (Dry Bush Pack?). I especially liked the minimalist fade into the horizon, and the composition while simple is very strong. Love to see a higher resolution render.
I like this too. Very much. Especially the horizon blur evokes that sense of heat simmering. Would be nice if Matt could add a function input in the blur function, wouldn't it?
Stonkingly good stuff Ryan!
Dof does it!
Your fault, I just had to have a cold one too!
:D

Thanks very much guys.
Ulco, yes I would very much like there to be options for all sorts of atmospheric distortions and phenomena. Mirages, sun dogs, ice halos, coronas and so much more would be amazing to be rendered internally - but I would imagine it would be a pretty huge amount of work for some very edge case situations. Can always hope though.
I've got a great book that describes in detail the science of all sorts of atmospheric oddities that I would highly recommend anyone pick up if you can find a used copy. It is called Out of the Blue: A 24 Hour Skywatcher's Guide by John Naylor. Purchased new it is stupidly expensive, but there are lots of used copies around.
Nice desert Ryan! Good to see your work again!

At least heat should be an option, that's not exactly fringe or rare. Certainly share your hope though in general.
Are you an alpha tester, Ryan? Just asking because we are supposed to see an update soon, and in the last weeks you and other old pros have been showing up. Just curious if there is a connection ;) The conspiracy theory market has slowed down on the rest of the net so I am looking for plots and secrets where ever I can find them. ;D

Really like the pic Ryan. Thanks for the heads up about the book. Just picked up a copy from Amazon, (withdrawn library copy, like new) for $8.95. Time to learn again.................... ;D
A gorgeous image Ryan, reminds me very much of the southeastern Utah area with your plant choices and terrain colors.

We seem to get a different offering in Canada cuz I'd have bought that as well had I seen it...
Excellent - really hot render!
