Title: Today's Project: Oasis
Post by: bobbystahr on July 26, 2015, 10:43:31 PM
Was just messing about in a Fractal Terrain with the coastline and the warp shader and got this...it all starts somewhere and it grew from there. C&C most welcome.

Yep. Suggestions: some voronoi ridgy dune-like warped displacement on the sandy tops, some strata colors in the rocks, some fake stones in low parts, sand darker to a bit above water level, some grasses between the palms, and a few drinking camels (or a speedboat  ;) ).

Yes - Nice start!

Be careful with the speedboat! Prone to accidents on small ponds - And don't even try oil tankers  ;)

Thanks guys....Heh heh heh, thought of a camel or two but then I'd need some Arabs and appropriate tent(s) and I wouldn't want to attract CSIS/CIA attention looking for Arabs online....Dunno if I'll come back to this...short attention span in this unused to heat we have...Triggers my latent ADD...just wanna drink Ice Cold Virgin Juleps(I don't use alcohol), but aside from the whimsical speed boat all good ideas. Maybe on a cooler day when I want to warm up. Maybe I'll spend some time in Imagine3D making tents.....

Nice! Simple, but I'm sure that will change. Seems to be a sort of softness to the lighting even though its broad daylight which is nice. Not sure if you did anything intentional or not for that but it works ;D

The terrain came out dreamy and soft so I gave it soft shadow sun, large radius...so yeah, intentional and Ulco..I have some FakeStones on the ridges, your rounded stone clip actually, but with tweaking they turned into dirt for the trees.
