Some day I will have to learn after effects, too ... but I have not rendered enough material until now :)

yes, with AE you can get a beautiful effects with fast render. but also the iclone 5 or 6
looke for example this video i have used more than 6 programs with different sequences terragen, max, mandelbulb 3d,....
