Another thing I'm doing, some first tests.

Like them all, too.
Could be a series.
Very nice!

There is an area similar to the two bottom renders that i visited quite a while ago so it looks very believable.

Much lovely subtlety in these, very fine work indeed!

Thanks a lot guys, very encouraging. The second is just a crop of the first in final quality, but it's an area I like as well. But the client wants an overview. But since this took only 3 hours or so to put together I might treat him with an extra render from another POV  ;) And hope he comes back for more  ::)

Excellent work as always Ulco

Remarkable work! All three are really good angles. My only suggestion might be to add some birds and sink the sub :)

Most excellent. The downed trees are great! Banks could use some erosion, look a bit like rocks at the moment.

Birds are being made as we speak; some caspian terns is what they want. There are some white herons, but hardly visible.

WOW - wonderful placement and variety of vegetation, just right.

Wonderful creel. I look forward to seeing the final of this

Since you asked. This is more or less the final, some minor adjustments to make. The boat isn't the best, it's quite bad actually, actually only meant for distance. I might do another boat.

Looks very nice Ulco.

Lovely image. Ulco!

If you would not have mentioned I would not have checked - now unfortunately I agree with the boat...  ;)

I did some post on the boat, and well, it's not that area that's important anyway. But I have to do something about my boat library  ;)

Looks great, Ulco! Great vegetation, and I wouldn't have noticed the lower quality of the boat too.

Wow...constantly amazed at the way you get the grass object to work so well...I'm really missing something with that lil bugger as it always looks very 'fake' when I attempt to use it. This is a stellar render...I can ignore the boat.

This is a combination of the internal grass (which is good enough for distant 'reeds') and 2 versions of my (NWDA) reeds. At first I had them floating just under water level, as I didn't want them to duck in deeper areas (you didn't see the base anyway), but later I made a softer mask of the reed mask and added that to the terrain undulations, so the ground was raised a little where the reeds grow. So then I sat the pops on ground.

I figured out why it always looks fake for me...I'm colourblind and I never achieve an appropriate colour scheme. That's why the birthday pressie from Walli of his Volume 1(thanks yet again) has saved many of my scenes from my impairment.
