Title: Expanding Smoke Column
Post by: WAS on October 20, 2015, 04:56:40 PM
I'm wondering if there is a way to make a cloud column expand as it raises? I mean, without having to create a endless node tree of different sized masked cloud columns end to end?

Try some of the techniques in this Fumarole thread:

So I am trying to use the Plume effect referenced here, but It doesn't seem t want to show. I expanded the size, punched in the XYZ into the source, but it doesn't seem to be visible.

Also, I've been having pretty long render times because of that second compute terrain. Is there a better way to get in that lateral displacement while keeping only one  computer terrain? Basically without the second computer terrain my planetary grass and dark rock layers won't behave correctly.
