Title: New Star Trek series for 2017
Post by: TheBadger on November 02, 2015, 03:18:18 PM
http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2015/11/02/totally-new-star-trek-series-coming-in-2017/

Found this while checking the news site head lines today. Nothing else going on out of the usual... that they are telling us ;) ;D

It will cost you 5 bucks a month to watch it. But if they are charging a premium subscription, then there better be some T&A :P

I'm pretty excited for it. I love Star Trek. In fact I need to export some objects to fiddle with. However the 5.99 a month for a CBS subscription... that is just silly. Hope it doesn't stick.

I guess I'll be watching it in re-runs some day.

Or on the internet for free. But yeah, BBC America plays next gen reruns basically 24/7. The thing about Star Trek is that it is great when it is new, but they don't hold up to well over time.

The 90s were pretty terrible in terms of design and stuff. And you can see that in the shots of the bridge of the enterprise on Next gen. Carpet in and of its self on a space ship is pretty silly. And then, the really soap opera nature of the episodes, are very dated too.

But yeah, geek that I am, I am looking forward to it as well. I grew up with next gen and deep space9 and voyager later. Did not have cable when I was a kid, so star trek was a pretty big deal for TV time.

I actually ended up liking that pre series before the original (the most resent series) quite a lot. I thought it was terrible at first, but I watched every episode on netflix, and for some reason liked it a lot that way. Netflix makes star trek reruns better  ;D

The design was clearly very late 80s and early 90s but very lobby office like. The 70s seem to date better with particular sci-fi designs.

Paying extra for this is silly. Not going to happen. And the creators are responsible for the abomination that the reboot was (maybe ok action sci-fi but no Trek) so my expectations are really low for this one...

Yeah I did like Enterprise, too. Too bad it got canned.
