A try at using the best of the Alpine shader.

Promising! I bet you'll do great things with the erosion shader. :D

I intend to. As much as i like the Alpine shader, i see limitations here and there. For one thing, i need a real deposition for the valleys. What i have here is not working because my eye picks up on the slope issues and of course fluvial channels that start into streams into rivers finally into lakes. The most difficult part is to imitate the mountain pattern before eroding it. It looks to be a multi-scale hard voronoi that breaks down into smaller voronoi with some warp.

Image one is the pattern i will try and tackle and image two shows my render with the valley slope issues.

You bring the quality of planets in TG to a higher level! I like the first try!

It can be better. I might abandoned the Alpine shader and work hard on an alternative solution.

Looks really great so far! Can't wait to see, what you'll do with Daniil's erosion plugin.

Promising...hang in there for the erosion plugin..looks like it may just solve your problem with deposition from what I seen posted so far.

The Procedural erosion will indeed solve my problem. I am still investigating an Alpine shader alternative.

Something new now with the Procedural erosion shader.

Still working on a river solution as it is not quite clamped enough. Rendered in fifty minutes and the erosion process was fairly fast in this case.

I was going to post the original image here eroded but eroding a complex Alpine shader is not exactly a good idea. It looked nice but too heavy to render do to many octaves to erode.

Crazy-looking Chris! Lots of river channels. Very cool. An extremely wet planet, but with fast-draining soil? :D

I suppose this would be a deluged world with quite a wet climate, cloud cover and rather large lifeforms.    ;D
