Title: Patch Displacement Holes
Post by: WAS on December 05, 2015, 05:23:32 PM
So lets say you have a very nice displacement effect but you have one or two holes in the seams. Is it possible to simply patch those holes somehow without changing your whole displacement setup and thus the desired effect?

That's a good idea.

You could try a painted shader.

Painted shader? Ah, to reshape certain areas. You could also set force all edges in the render node, but that increases render time.

You can also (if force edges doesn't work) increase the displacement tolerance setting in the 'planet' node.
That will also increase rendertimes.

I don't know how severe the artefacts are. I often have 'hot' pixels and I patch them in Photoshop. Much faster.

Just a couple tiny ones, probably far more efficient to just patch with the clone brush or heal brush. Seemed to have remedied them in latest adjustments too.
