Waiting for many animation renders again I needed to see something different than always my last space scenes...
Many first attempts today:
First time doing something like snow
First time using Daniil's erosion shader
First time using Kevin F's icy water
Models: Ships and from Archive3D.net, Plants from xFrog, Alan Wake's Jeep and fence from TF3DM, snow man from Turbosquid.
I didn't know how dangerous the usage of the erosion shader is, if you are not sure about sizes!
Perhaps next year I will go on playing with this, e.g. cable car at the slope on the right 8)
but for now - enjoy. :)
it is only me who cannot open the image?

Strange... but perhaps it works now with a re-upload:

I can see it now :D
Well I like it for sure. Nicely done.
...Just spotted the snowman now...hihihi....pretty cool, pretty cool...
Great scene - love the snowman! A hut or two would be nice.
Good one, I like to think of the story that might be behind the various objects.
Nice :)
Like as well but am slightly mystified by what the boats are doing in all that icey water with no dock near by...get caught in a quick freeze-up?
Gonna need an ice breaker to get out now hee hee hee.
Nice one. Well, Bobby, there are 2 dots and they are brave sailors attempting to drag a line to shore, to rescue all refugees aboard. The policeman from the patrol car is trying to phone for help, but got frozen halfway to the woods.

I decided to leave away any hut or other building - makes it more mysterious...
And i moved the wolfes a bit closer to the boat to get them into the image.
Very mysterious indeed. Nice snow, btw. Very wet looking, but still snow.

You took the words right off my fingers...we actually have wet wind driven snow much like that happening here...gonna be heavy to shovel I bet....not going to find out cuz I is a senior and the neighbourhood association has kids earning "brownie points" digging us seniors out.
Yep, that snow is remarkable.
Snow-watch Rescue-wolves or maybe they just wanna play...

I was about to ask if those were dogs out on the ice! And there they are! :D Glad I was able to notice that from a few pixels. Love this scene. Little happy snowman. Ah, just great. Love Terragen.
Is that snow based on a glass shader? Sure looks like it's either luminous, or capturing light.
Like this last one too. Really nice snow on those hills in the back, especially.
Thanks :)
WASasquatch, the snow is the easiest version you can imagine. Just some surface layers with different white, different powerfractals and different luminosity. The snow in the montains is additionally broken up via slope and height... almost as simple as in Terragen 0.9 :)
The darker areas of the lake are Kevin F's icy water.
Lovely scene... Great work! :)
