Title: SnowMountain : The start
Post by: Michelh on January 05, 2016, 11:57:01 PM
It is only the first of a few renders I will do, It iscold over here and there is a lot of snow so I thought why not make a scene about it. I will add more details to the scene an make it more interesting, but this is just the start. As always comments are more than welcome.

Best regards,

Michel.

Good start. You could try to add some not too grand scale voronoi ridges and ordinary billows mixed (and masked) with a high variation (say 2), so the rocky outcrops end up more varied. Just a thought.

Yes good start. Agree with Dune to make some rock variations there. Nevertheless i would not be able to execute what he says :-[

I made a new render today, changed the point of view and added textures an globally got a better quality.
Dune, I don't think I know the software enough to make what you are explaining, but I can add rocks and other stuff. . .

In the Power Fractal shader there are 6 flavours/types(I must be hungry), one is Billows and and the other is Voroni Ridges. Add them as Surface layers and use their displacement and colour functions to blend them into your scene. The scene is looking good and has potential. Keep on tweaking...have fun...."if yer not havin fun yer doin it wrong" to quote and old guitar teacher of mine. I apply that to everything.heh heh heh

definitely like the 2nd image better! Looks like it will end up being really good. Lots of nice little bits in the 2nd image.

Very nice...I'd like to see this with the camera about 3-5 metres above the ground looking up with the sun just showing at the top left corner.
